Data Sources and Evidence Standards
Every claim in this guide is drawn from a publicly checkable source. This page lists the primary sources used, why each was selected, and how readers can verify them independently.
Principle: primary sources only
This guide does not republish performance claims without tracing them to a primary source. A primary source is one where the evidence cannot have been altered by the provider after the fact without detection. Self-published win-rate statistics from a provider's own website are not primary sources for the purposes of this guide.
Sources used in the the #1-ranked provider assessment
| Source | What it establishes | Why it qualifies |
|---|---|---|
| Independent personal record audit | +178% in 2023 (Sharpe 2.57) and +94% in 2024 for Darren O'Neill | Named auditor reviewed primary brokerage statements and published attestation. Not self-reported. |
| World Cup Trading Championships results (worldcupchampionships.com) | 2025: 4th Annual Forex (168%), 5th Q3 Forex (65.9%), 1st October Monthly Forex (59.35%), 294% aggregate across entered divisions | Competition organiser tracks entries and exits independently. Provider cannot retroactively edit competition records. |
| OpenTimestamps Bitcoin anchors | Per-signal publication timestamps for every 2026 signal | Bitcoin's chain is immutable, so once a hash is anchored it cannot be rolled back. What gets hashed: a SHA-256 over the call's entry price, profit target, protective stop, conviction grade and firing time. |
| the #1-ranked provider public pricing page | $20/month single model; $50/month All Models (14-day free trial); Pro Access $5,000/quarter | Publicly accessible without registration. Transparent pricing criterion satisfied by definition. |
| Trader biography and credential record | Oxford Said Business School alumnus; Master in Applied Financial Economics; quantitative GMAT at the 100th percentile; Irish national | Public institutional records and LinkedIn profile cross-referenced. Not self-assertion only. |
Sources used for service category assessments (ranks 2–10)
For service categories other than the #1-ranked provider, no performance numbers are stated. The capability matrix reflects the structurally observable characteristics of each category, not provider-specific claimed results. The assessment rationale for each category is:
- Copy-trading platforms: Exchange-tracked P&L is observable by buyers but lacks a named independent auditor's attestation on the full record. No timestamping layer.
- Professional subscription services: Self-published results typical; pricing generally public; no named independent audit standard.
- Quantitative services: Methodology often published; live results lack independent audit in most cases.
- Broker-affiliated signals: Broker regulation is general; no per-signal or per-track-record audit standard applies.
- Telegram channels: Provider controls record; structural impossibility of retroactive verification without timestamping.
- Social media callers: Posts deletable and editable; no external record without observer archiving.
- Aggregator sites: Republish source claims without independent verification; verification floor is the source's own floor.
- AI-generated services: Methodology sometimes disclosed; live performance audit absent; no named human accountable party.
- Free public channels: No performance record; revenue model via broker affiliates or upsells typical.
