Product and Plan Eligibility: Check What You Can Actually Use

Brand-level functionality is not proof that your selected tier, account or location can use it.

Edition: 11 October 2026. Public-documentation research.

Identify the selected product

Write the exact plan and task before reading a feature grid. A brand can sell research, chart tools, alerts and execution integrations separately. A demonstration may show a more expensive tier, an add-on or a different product family. Ask which object the selected checkout entitles you to receive.

Keep the product identifier with your source notes. If a plan is renamed, establish whether its terms changed instead of assuming the old description still applies. Do not borrow a previous offer to complete a current comparison.

Confirm the operating requirements

Inspect supported account connections, exact instrument availability, required data and the proposed delivery route. A generic ticker label can map to different products at different venues. A documented platform capability does not demonstrate compatibility with every broker account.

Where an integration is required, identify which component owns the connection and failure response. Use official documentation and support. Do not invent an unofficial workaround so that a preferred product appears to fit. A mismatch is a valid reason to remove it from the shortlist.

Separate eligibility from preference

Regional availability, account conditions and tax treatment are questions for the actual provider and applicable jurisdiction. This publication does not assert a universal eligibility rule. A buyer should resolve those constraints before comparing convenience or price.

An attractive discount is irrelevant if the selected offer is unavailable or excludes the required task. Save the condition beside the headline amount. Do not count conditional access as unconditionally free or apply an introductory rate to every tier.

Record an unresolved plan without guessing

When the product page and checkout conflict, preserve the two sources and the date. Request clarification about the governing plan, included output and recurring commitment. The comparison can remain incomplete until the provider resolves it.

Use the evidence workbench to keep the open condition visible. A documented brand mechanism and an unresolved selected-plan entitlement can coexist; this distinction is more useful than assigning an unsupported low or high score.

Worked case: the feature belongs to another tier

Hypothetical case: a product demonstration includes an archive and a notification route, but the buyer's selected plan names only basic access. The demonstration establishes what was shown, not the purchased entitlement. Ask for the plan-specific feature list and governing terms.

Do not fill a comparison cell with the demonstrated capability while quoting the cheaper tier's price. That would describe a combined offer the provider may not sell. Keep the task, feature and price attached to the same product identifier.

Test compatibility without changing the brief

When a required account connection is unavailable, a vendor may suggest a different workflow. Treat this as a new candidate and identify its retained decisions, costs and evidence. Do not call it the original product with a minor workaround if the account boundary changed.

A valid fit comparison can reject the initial candidate and investigate the alternative. It should not hide the extra component or assume that its documentation transfers from the first product.

Refresh the product identity

Keep product names and selected terms in a dated record. A product transition can change the meaning of old articles and campaign amounts. If the available sources disagree, remove the authoritative price claim and ask for clarification rather than preserving a convenient historic offer.

A publication can continue discussing the documented category while selected-plan details remain unresolved. That is preferable to inventing entitlement, trial eligibility or a renewal schedule.
