A Subscription Audit Before the Trial Ends
Audit the purchase decision: the selected product, its useful output, the retained responsibilities and its renewal. This is not an independent financial audit.
Freeze the purchase record
Save the plan name, offer, trial start, conversion time, renewal amount and cancellation instructions. Capture any conditional eligibility, such as an account requirement, separately. A generic brand FAQ may not describe the product you selected.
Do not assume all trials last fourteen days or all offers renew at the introductory amount. Use the actual product record. This is especially important when a page describes one product family while the checkout names another.
Test the promised deliverable
List the objects you expected and the objects you received. Did you obtain full instructions, a scanner workspace, a news stream or access to an individual copying listing? Keep feature access separate from trading outcomes. A trial can fail its operational brief even when the underlying market happens to move favorably.
Record outages, inaccessible features, ambiguous instructions and missing history as well as useful observations. Note whether support resolved the issue and preserve the response. We have not performed those paid-account tests for the listed products; this is a buyer's procedure.
Check the next billing cycle
A subscription, outside signal seller and hosting component may renew separately. Canceling one may not cancel the others. Confirm the exact cancellation path with each provider rather than assuming a single account switch closes the whole workflow.
For copying or automation, billing cancellation and the management of open positions are separate questions. Obtain the written operating policy before making changes. A review site cannot direct how your funded account should be closed.
Write a continue, defer or stop conclusion
Continue only if the operational task remains relevant, the selected terms are understood and outstanding questions have a credible resolution. Defer if evidence is missing. Stop the subscription decision if the task can already be met by existing resources. This is a commercial evaluation, not a forecast of gains.
Keep the dated conclusion with the observation log. If you later choose another plan, create a new record instead of overwriting the old terms. That preserves a useful history when products and marketing change.
Worked case: a trial answers only access
Hypothetical case: a buyer opens the workspace successfully and sees several useful candidates, but has not obtained the historical record required for the intended comparison. The trial has answered access and perhaps workflow questions. It has not answered the missing performance question. The decision note should preserve that distinction.
A short observation can justify a statement that the product was understandable during those sessions. It cannot justify a permanent quality score, an independently audited return or a claim that future subscribers will get the same result. Do not expand a narrow finding to rescue a renewal.
Separate cancellation confirmations
Keep the requested cancellation, the provider's confirmation and the remaining paid components as distinct records. If a subscription uses an outside seller or execution host, investigate whether each has its own agreement. A UI switch is not evidence that every charge or open exposure ended.
For account-connected workflows, use the official provider's instructions for operational consequences. This publication supplies a commercial review structure, not directions for liquidating a live account. An unresolved open-position policy should have been a pre-subscription question.
Write the next review trigger
A continue decision should include conditions that would require another review: a renamed plan, changed required component, new delivery policy or changed personal availability. Otherwise an old fit conclusion can be reused indefinitely after the actual workflow changes.
Save the original note and create a new dated assessment when a trigger occurs. This is a more useful audit trail than revising the earlier conclusion to appear permanently correct.
Decision Record
| Decision question | Record to retain |
|---|---|
| What did the trial include? | Exact plan and observed access |
| What remains unresolved? | Missing artifact and support response |
| What renews separately? | Subscription and dependency cancellations |
