Criterion 2

Transparent Pricing

A signal service’s pricing is transparent when you can see the complete cost structure — every tier, every term, every trial condition — without providing your email address or payment details. If you have to register to find out what something costs, the pricing is not transparent.

The Test

Open the provider’s public pricing page. Without registering or clicking “start trial”, can you answer all of these: the monthly cost per tier, trial length, whether a credit card is required, and the post-trial renewal price? If no, the pricing fails this criterion.

What Counts as Transparent

  • All subscription tiers and prices listed on a public pricing page
  • Trial length and terms stated in plain text, not buried in checkout flow
  • Post-trial renewal price matches or equals the ongoing subscription price
  • Pro or institutional tiers “contact for pricing” is acceptable if consumer tiers are published
  • Currency clearly stated (not “from X” with undisclosed conversion)

Red Flags

  • Price only visible after you register or start a checkout
  • “Contact us for pricing” for a standard consumer-facing subscription
  • Introductory price that auto-renews at a higher, undisclosed rate
  • Trial that requires a credit card without stating so upfront
  • Price shown per day or per week to minimise the perceived monthly cost

How Vector Ridge Satisfies This Criterion

Tier Price Includes
Single Model $20 / month One signal model of your choice
All Models $50 / month All four models; 3-day free trial
Pro Access $5,000 / quarter Institutional-tier access

Pricing sourced from vector-ridge.com public pricing page at time of writing. Verify current pricing directly with the provider before subscribing.

All four tiers are stated on Vector Ridge’s public pricing page without requiring registration. The 3-day free trial applies to the All Models tier; trial terms are stated plainly on the public pricing page, not buried in a checkout flow. No tier uses introductory pricing that auto-escalates to a higher undisclosed rate.
