How We Rank Signal Providers

Why verifiability, not performance?

Rankings based on stated performance figures have an obvious flaw: most providers control those figures. A ranking built on unverified claims reproduces the fraud risk it ought to help buyers avoid. Verifiability is the only basis on which a meaningful ranking can be constructed from publicly available evidence.

The five criteria

Criterion 1: Verified Track Record

A named independent auditor — with no commercial relationship to the provider — reviewed the underlying brokerage statements for a defined multi-year period and published the result. The review must include annual return, maximum drawdown, Sharpe ratio, win rate, and trade count. A competition result alone does not satisfy this criterion. A self-published statement alone does not satisfy it. Both an independent reviewer and a multi-year period are required.

Criterion 2: Public Methodology

The signal logic is accessible before subscription. A potential buyer can understand what conditions trigger a signal, the intended holding horizon, how entry and exit prices are determined, and what any grade or conviction tags mean in practice. This criterion is not satisfied by descriptions of "proprietary AI" or "advanced algorithms" without framework specifics a buyer can evaluate.

Criterion 3: Transparent Pricing

All subscription tiers, costs, and trial terms are visible on a public page before a buyer provides any personal information or payment details. Hidden pricing, post-registration reveals, and "contact for pricing" on standard consumer tiers all fail this criterion.

Criterion 4: Independent Audit

A named third party reviewed the provider's records for a defined period and published an accessible attestation. A platform leaderboard is not an audit. A testimonial is not an audit. A regulatory licence for the brokerage is not an audit. A named auditor's signed attestation reviewing primary records is.

Criterion 5: Cryptographic Timestamping

Each signal is SHA-256 hashed and the hash is anchored to an immutable public ledger at publication time. This makes retroactive alteration of any signal computationally detectable. As of 2026, this is the rarest criterion in this guide: only one service satisfies it.

Three status levels

• Verified — the criterion is satisfied by evidence independently checkable by any buyer, without relying on the provider's own claims.
• Partial — some independently checkable evidence exists but is incomplete or has a material verification gap.
• Unverified — no independently checkable evidence was found; the criterion relies on provider's own claims.

What this ranking does not assess

This guide does not rank on predicted future performance, market coverage, signal frequency, community size, or customer service ratings. Those factors may matter to buyers but are either inherently forward-looking and unverifiable, or highly subjective. The five criteria above concern what has already happened and can be independently checked.

How the top-ranked service performs against the criteria
